With all respect to Madonna - we're living in a Digital world

AI, ML, NLP, VR, AR - these could be acronyms in Major League Baseball, initials of movie stars or common terms for any company experiencing a digital transformation. If your company has not experienced this yet - you will.....there isn't an industry today that isn't affected by some semblance of digital - banking, insurance, the arts, healthcare, etc.


While it may be daunting - it's exciting to be part of this! So...what can you do:


Read, read, read - familiarize yourself with the terms above

Follow key people on Twitter, read blogs, attend webinars - the more you know...the better.


Know how to apply this info to your current role - what will bring value to your employer and your customers

Know your company's Digital roadmap to build your skill base


Train yourself - there are plenty of AI, ML, etc. courses available via the web.


Some of the things you may want to keeping mind while you are in a learning mode:

Think about the overall customer experience - how can a digital transformation improve your interactions with your base

Break those silos - seek out others who are interested in Digital within your organization - think of ways to collaborate

Agile thinking - part of working in a digital world is developing new ways of working - faster, smarter, more collaborative

Analytical mindset - incorporate impactful data to drive business decisions


Digital is inevitable - embrace it - not only will it make you more marketable but you will have a direct impact on the bottom line.
